Bridgestone

How Our Bespoke Software Saved Time for the World’s Largest Tyre Manufacturer

About Bridgestone

The Bridgestone Group provides a wide range of tyres for various applications worldwide, including passenger cars, trucks and buses, aircraft, construction and mining vehicles, and motorcycles. Evolve supported the UK and Northern Europe team by designing, building, and supporting a bespoke discount and rebate management platform. Our digital solution has proven so efficient that an approval process, which previously took days, now happens in just hours.

The Challenge

Bridgestone recognised that their manual processing of trade agreements—hundreds every two months—was becoming problematic. The finance team faced immense pressure, having to manually adjust numerous invoices and issue credit notes. The process was neither auditable nor transparent, leading to numerous errors and increased workloads across the business. Customer experience was deteriorating, and the company struggled to react swiftly to market changes.

How We Helped

When Bridgestone first approached us, they initially sought a workflow solution. However, we advised against this approach. Six months later, Bridgestone returned, and together we decided to run a workshop to thoroughly identify the issues. Instead of implementing a workflow solution, we developed a unique, cloud-based system tailored to Bridgestone’s needs. This fully automated, end-to-end platform integrates seamlessly with their existing ERP system.

Our solution manages everything from initial budget creation to issuing trade agreements. It handles renegotiations, workflows, and approvals, right through to the final version that can be digitally accepted by customers.

The Results

The new system significantly reduced the time required for the approval process, allowing Bridgestone staff to focus on other critical tasks. Greater transparency was achieved, providing both the customer and the business with a full audit trail of all changes. Additionally, with reduced manual intervention, accuracy improved, resulting in fewer mistakes and less frustration.
